PREVENT at the “Climate Change in Cyprus and Societal Impacts from Past to Present” Conference

PREVENT was proudly represented at the “Climate Change in Cyprus and Societal Impacts from Past to Present” conference, held at the University of Nicosia on 8–9 May 2025 as the closing event of the HIGH-PASM project. Bringing together insights from paleoclimate records, historical health data, and land-use archives, the conference explored how climate variability has shaped Cypriot society over the past 900 years. A highlight for our consortium was Fragkeskos Kekkou receiving the Best Poster Award for his PREVENT-related work, “Temperature Extremes and Human Health in Cyprus: Investigating the Impact of Heat and Cold Waves”.
