PREVENT 3rd Project Meeting
17-19 June 2025
The PREVENT consortium successfully held its highly productive 3rd General Assembly on June 17th and 18th, 2025, hosted by our partners at VU Amsterdam. All partners were present for two days of intensive discussions, focusing on the latest advancements across the project. Key breakthroughs were presented, including strategies for reducing ensemble size in seasonal forecasting without compromising accuracy, and the detailed development of the new PREVENT e-tool and its open-access database. Teams showcased impressive progress in refining dynamical and statistical downscaling methods, and shared early results from applying the predictions to our five critical impact sectors—from water management case studies in Morocco and Greece to analyzing tourism and health risks. The meeting concluded with a strategic review of the Technical Report and clear steps for moving into the next phase of research and dissemination, ensuring we remain on track to deliver critical climate resilience tools.
