PREVENT Early Career Forum on Mediterranean Seasonal Forecasting Research

26 August - 4 September 2026
University Camping AUTh - Poseidi, Chalkidiki, Greece

Overview

The PREVENT Seasonal Climate Forecasting Forum 2026 is a ten-day immersive scientific event dedicated to advancing seasonal climate prediction, understanding climate extremes, and connecting cutting-edge research with real-world societal impacts across the Mediterranean.

The forum will explore dynamical and statistical seasonal forecasting, bias correction methods, and causal analysis of climate variability and extremes, alongside applications in water management, health risk, agriculture, and climate services.
Hosted at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki camping site in Poseidi, Greece (https://camping.auth.gr/en/home-en/), the forum takes place in a unique coastal setting on the edge of the pines and the olive groves of Kalandra’s valley, offering an inspiring environment for scientific exchange, collaboration, and a memorable Mediterranean experience.
